Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IORT) IORT is a type of advanced radiotherapy, unlike standard radiation therapy, which is applied to cancer surgery. IORT's objective is to provide direct radiation treatment to the tumor area, protecting healthy surrounding tissues. IORT shows perfect advantages when used in the stomach, pancreas, intestines, colon, breast, soft tissues, lungs, pediatric and gynecological tumors.
Standard radiation therapy requires a 6 week treatment, approximately once every 5 days.
While the advantage of IORT is that in this type of advanced radiotherapy technology, only a single IORT application dose is needed.
The hospitals with whom we cooperate have the latest technology in the field of medicine.
